For those looking to look a few years younger, feel more energetic or even want to drop a few pounds, body cleansing is the way to go. A natural cleansing diet can help you with the process.

If you break up your diet into four steps, you can make it a little easier on yourself. Do all the steps at once or introduce one step every few days. They are as follows; eat mainly fresh vegetables and fruits, eat only whole grains, learn to eat the correct portion and type of healthy proteins and last, but not least, stop eating any junk foods for now.

Junk foods are not eaten during any type of cleanse. Even processed foods are phased out during a natural cleansing diet because of the chemicals used in processing. Eating these types of foods three times or more a day contributes to the body burden of toxic buildup in your system. It is this buildup that you are attempting to clear out, so cut these foods out for now.

These foods include all junk foods such as pizza, hot dogs, donuts, the usual suspects. Some you may not expect include other highly processed foods such as lunch meats that contain food preservatives and fillers. Cereals and breads include many hidden ingredients such as high fructose corn syrup. Read the labels for a better idea of what is in your food.

Fresh, whole vegetables and fruits should be your main food choices. If it sounds boring to eat so many, try finding a recipe book for vegetables or even a raw food “cook book.” You might be surprised at all the nutritious ways you can prepare your foods and get the minerals, antioxidants and phytonutrients that your body so needs during your cleanse.

The most flavorful choices are organic and fresh. Try shopping at your local farmer’s market if you have not done so before. You can usually find better prices and sample the produce before you buy.

Next on our list is proteins. The right proteins include vegetarian such as beans, lentils and sprouts. Animal proteins include organic eggs, organic poultry and even organic meats. Look for grass fed, organic, or hormone free. These will provide nutrients such as the essential fat conjugated linoleic acid, not found in non-organic meats.

Whole grains should be eaten in their unprocessed form, if possible. This may take a little more effort finding them. But this way you can avoid hidden sugars and other chemicals you do not want. If you do use something processed, like bread, opt for whole grain, organic and sprouted to get the most nutrition.

Stick with these general rules to create your perfect natural cleansing diet. It will allow your body’s natural processes of cleansing and detoxification take place without the interference and burden of chemicals, pesticides and other waste that your body does not need.
