We all know that what we eat can greatly influence our health. The old proverb, you are what you eat, is a true saying. Thus a healthy diet is important to lead a healthy lifestyle. Eating foods that keep your colon clean is one very important aspect of a healthy diet.
Why is cleansing the colon so important? If the sewer system in your house is clogged and backs up you have a real mess on your hands. The same thing can happen in your body. You can imagine what it is like if the sewer system in your body is clogged. This can result in symptoms such as acne, brain fog, constipation, obesity, colitis, hemorrhoids and such as these. Weight loss is an often seen side benefit to colon cleansing.
So how does this happen without you realizing it? The food you eat passes through the digestive system and into the colon. The wrinkles in the colon become clogged with waste material. Things such as colitis, polyps and colon cancer can result when these crevices become impacted with toxic waste. The only way to remove this material is with a good colon cleanse.
Most of our diets consist of processed foods which lack fiber. Raw fruits, vegetables and nuts are a good beginning to the process of removing toxins. This process can be improved with fiber supplementation. Be sure to take both soluble and insoluble fiber. Drinking plenty of water is also very important. Fecal material is concentrated in the colon as the colon absorbs water. If you don’t drink enough water then the colon will absorb more water than it should and your stools will be dry and hard. This is one contributing factor to constipation. Look for a colon cleanse that will also remove parasites, kill harmful bacteria, and improve colon muscle tone. Colon cleansing can be improved by using herbs. A good commercial colon cleanse will have all the required herbs in their proper balance for an effective colon cleanse.
A useful homemade colon cleanse recipe should include the following:
