A body detox is a full body cleanse that completely rejuvenates you. This is possible because whilst detoxing all of the toxins that have built up in your body are flushed out.
These toxins are constantly building up within you, and the more they do so, the less efficiently your organs are able to operate. As your organs becomes less efficient, you start to look and feel bad, with your weight and energy levels being just a couple of the things that are affected.
These toxins are breathed in, as they are found in the air all around us, in cities especially. Cigarette smoke and exhaust fumes, for example, are full of toxins, and whilst they are easily inhaled, they are not so easily exhaled.
Toxins are also to be found in the food that you eat. Processed foods are full of various preservatives and additives, which are effectively toxins in themselves, and once consumed your body struggles to get rid of them. It is not just processed foods that are problematic though, and even non-organic fruits and vegetables contribute to the build up of toxins as they will have been sprayed with toxins whilst being grown.
Fortunately, toxins can be removed from the body, and the damage that they cause is reversible. To fully remove them, a body detox, which includes the following, is advisable…
- Drinking plenty of water
- Eating lots of organic fruits and vegetables
- Consuming wholesome foods such as wheats and grains
- Taking vitamin supplements
Doing the above as part of a body detox program will strengthen your internal organs and allow them to flush out the toxins that have built up. At first, you will start to feel your energy levels rise and, shortly afterwards, the beneficial effects will start to show themselves outwardly too.
Only minor side effects are to be expected, with mild headaches and slight sweating not uncommon. These will only be present for a 1-3 days though, after which you will start to feel yourself getting stronger and healthier by the day.
You should undergo a body detox after any prolonged feeling of not being at your best, but it is not necessary to wait for that to happen, as prevention is always better cure. So, even if you are feeling relatively healthy, you should still consider body detoxing every 6 months.
So, if you have not yet started planning your body detox, then now is the time to start. You have no excuse for not starting one today; if you do so, in a weeks time you will be feeling a hundred times better than you do right now!
